Mossley Band were recently awarded a grant from the Tameside Community Safety Fund.
This community grant reminds us that a Brass Band is so much more than just a group of like minded friends making music. It gives its members a second family, a thriving social life and a creative outlet.
We are all proud to be part of our Mossley Band Community, built on the common goal of making music - just for the joy of it.

There has been a Brass Band in Mossley since 1841, when the Mossley Temperance Band was formed. It soon found its own place in history, by becoming, in 1853, the first band to win the Belle Vue Championship contest, now known as the British Open, and no longer held at Belle Vue.
Mossley Band in 2026 is a Second Section Band situated right in the heart of the Whit Friday circuit.
Rehearsal Nights are Tuesday and Thursday evenings 8-10pm in their own band and social club on Argyle Street in the centre of Mossley.
